Going Down, Now COVID-19 DKI Bed Is Only Filled 21 Percent, ICU Used 31 Percent

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said the bed occupancy rate (BOR) in 140 referral hospitals for COVID-19 patients is currently 21 percent.

"Regarding the BOR for this hospital, of the 5,810 installed, 1,236 are used or 21 percent filled," said DKI Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza at City Hall, Central Jakarta, Friday, March 18.

The occupancy of the COVID-19 BOR today has decreased again from March 13, which was still at 23 percent, and as of March 6, which was still at 29 percent.

Meanwhile, the current ICU occupancy rate is 31 percent.

"The ICU of 920 is installed, 281 is used. So 31 percent," said Riza.

Today's ICU occupancy also decreased from March 13, which was still at 32 percent, and as of March 6, which was still at 40 percent.

As of March 17, 2022, the number of active cases in Jakarta today decreased by 2,098 cases, so the number of active cases now stands at 15,899 people who are still being treated or isolated.

New cases in Jakarta on March 1 added 1,583 cases. The accumulation of COVID-19 cases in the capital city was recorded at 1,224,167 cases. In the last few days, DKI Jakarta is no longer the province with the highest daily number of cases.

"There has been a decline, in general, in the last week. Of course, we ask the public to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols even though the easing in activity units, in public places on transportation. We ask the public to remain vigilant, especially those with comorbidities," he explained.

As for the total number of positive cases, a total of 1,193,225 people were declared cured with a cure rate of 97.5 percent, and a total of 15,043 people died with a death rate of 1.3 percent.

The positivity rate or the percentage of positive cases in the past week in Jakarta was 9.1 percent, while the percentage of positive cases in total was 12 percent.
