G20 Delegation Welcomed By Yogyakarta Palace Style Dinner
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) hosted the delegates of the First Meeting of the G20 Education Working Group with a royal dinner at the Yogyakarta Palace, namely Ladosan Dhahar Kembul Bujana.
Head of the G20 Education Working Group, Iwan Syahril, said that through the Ladosan Dhahar Kembul Bujana tradition, it is hoped that the delegates can get an unforgettable experience while in Yogyakarta.
"Tonight, we would like to introduce you to hundreds of years of culture and traditions which are manifested in the form of hospitality, dance and cuisine," he said while giving a speech before the dinner was reported by Antara, Thursday, March 17.
He explained, Ladosan Dhahar Kembul Bujana is a dining tradition resembling a fine dining setting that adapts the eating traditions of Javanese kings in the past.
This eating tradition involves several people to provide special services to members of the royal family. The waiters wear traditional clothes that are identical to the courtiers of the palace.
The food is carried by the waiter in wooden containers carried on the shoulders. This wooden container known as jodhang was carried by a courtier who walked in front while holding a songong or a royal yellow umbrella.
Iwan Syahril said that the dinner tradition took place at Bale Kambang, which is one of the houses left by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono VII which is now a museum.
The Ladosan Dhahar Kembul Bujana procession for the EdWG G20 delegates began with a parade by seven female and male officers who walked from the main kitchen to Gadri or Bale Kambang.
The Jodhang carrier is led by a Bekel or Cucuk Lampah, who is then followed by a song-bearer on the left, along with four officers who brought Jodhang, and finally a female waitress in charge of serving dishes at the guest table.
He explained, as many as 11 menus were served for the G20 delegates, ranging from appetizers to desserts, namely Javanese Beer, Roti Jok Semur Chicken, Ledre Pisang, Cucumber Salad, Wangi Pandan Rice, Dendeng Age, Sapitan Lidah, Zwaart Zuur (Sour Duck). Black), Lombok Kethok Brisket, Pakis Taji Setup, and Rondo Topo with Caramel Sauce.
The city of Yogyakarta, known as the City of Students and thick with customs and culture, was chosen as the host for the First Meeting of the G20 Education Working Group, which will take place on March 16-18, 2022.
