PT KCN's Response To Sanctions From The DKI Provincial Government, Install Wind Breakers
JAKARTA - The Marunda Port Business Entity (BUP), PT Karya Citra Nusantara (KCN) responded to the administrative sanctions imposed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government as a result of the alleged coal dust pollution from the area by installing wind breakers.
PT KCN's Director of Operations, Hartono, stated his readiness to respond to the sanctions in accordance with the time limit specified when he met the call from the Environmental Service of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the North Jakarta City Environment Sub-dept. at the North Jakarta Mayor's Office, Thursday.
"In principle, the sanctions are improvements going forward. I personally and the company will implement the sanctions because the sanctions have a time limit that must be met," Hartono told reporters in North Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Thursday, March 17.
The installation of a wind breaker is one of the ways that PT KCN immediately takes to overcome the problem of coal dust.
According to Hartono, with this tool the dust will not spread too far.
"Later we will install the tool so that the wind energy that blows will be reduced because it splits by itself," said Hartono.
He promised that he would continue to monitor complaints from the public and that they would be dealt with as soon as possible.
The impact of coal dust pollution, said Hartono, will be gradually resolved.
"We continue to pay attention to what they convey and we accommodate it to be resolved together with the North Jakarta City Environmental Service," he concluded. The third administrative stage is coercion by the government on the BUP.
"In the form of administrative sanctions, the third stage is direct, namely government coercion so that PT KCN is forced by the government to immediately improve environmental management. If it is not fulfilled, it will continue to the next level, such as freezing permits to revocation of permits," said the Head of Public Relations Section of the DKI Provincial Environmental Service. Jakarta Yogi Ikhwan.
He emphasized that the sanctions were not imposed only from one side of public complaints, but an investigation has been carried out in the field regarding the types of violations that have been committed by PT KCN.
"They will move to make repairs and we will oversee it and monitor whether the repairs they have made have gone according to our recommendations," he said.
