Motivated To Race In Mandalika, Gresini's 'second Home', Diggia: I Can Go Faster If There Is Pressure Or Fan Support

JAKARTA - Fabio Di Giannantonio hopes that the atmosphere of racing at the "second home" of the Gresini Racing team, namely the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, can encourage his performance during the second series of MotoGP racing this weekend in Lombok.

The circuit, which is 12 thousand kilometers from the Gresini team's headquarters in Faenza, is the second home for the Italian team thanks to a strong network of partnerships with Indonesian sponsors.

"It's really cool to get support like this here," said Diggia - Giannantonio's nickname - at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, Thursday quoted from Antara.

The rider who made his debut as a rookie will rely on the public support of the host, which is one of the countries with the largest MotoGP fan base in the world.

"I always like the support from the crowd because it always gives me encouragement, I can go faster if there is pressure or support from the fans.

"Racing here is very special, for our sponsors. It's like our second home and a matter of surprise for the crowd, maybe I can do better and get my first point and for me it will be a very good result."

Diggia is fully fit and has returned to the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit after having tried the track on the south coast of Lombok in a pre-season test last month.

With his debut experience in Qatar, Diggia will look to improve on the P17 finish he achieved at Losail while continuing to adapt to the Ducati Desmosedici GP21.

Gresini Racing made a surprise start to the season after Diggia team-mate Enea Bastianini picked up 25 points thanks to his win in Qatar two weeks ago.
