Government Holds Free COVID-19 Swab Test For Health Workers

JAKARTA - The COVID-19 Task Force said the government would carry out a swab test to detect the spread of COVID-19 for health workers. This free test is carried out as a step to protect health workers who are struggling to care for people infected with the virus.

This free swab test will be carried out on Tuesday, September 22 and will be carried out first in the Greater Jakarta area and continued for other provinces, especially areas that are in the red zone of COVID-19 transmission.

"Therefore we encourage health workers in handling COVID-19 to participate in this program. So that they can really detect it early and prevent the potential for further spread to other health workers," he said.

Previously, Wiku also explained that in DKI Jakarta at this time, the highest cluster of COVID-19 transmission occurred in the hospital environment. Based on the data they have, currently there are 24 thousand COVID-19 patients who come from this cluster.

Meanwhile, the next largest group is the community cluster with 15,133 people and the office cluster currently has 3,194 patients. In addition, there are also other clusters such as the crew for crew members or migrant workers totaling 1,641 people, a market cluster for 622 people, and a health center with 220 patients.
