Teachers Can Now Monitor Student Progress Through Google Classroom

JAKARTA - Google has previewed the “Practice Sets” feature for Google Classroom that allows teachers to measure progress through automatically graded assignments. Quoted from Engadget, March 17, students can now also see real time feedback on their answers.

Students using Google Classroom don't have to wait until exams to find out how well they understand a concept. They can ask for directions through explanations and videos. Meanwhile, the teacher will know which students are really serious about the given task.

Google is currently testing Classroom practice sets in several schools. They will release a beta version in the coming months. This new feature will be available to teachers using the Teaching and Learning Upgrade as well as schools using Google Workspace for Education Plus.

Google encourages potential early adopters to register their interest in joining this beta. However, the Class practice feature will not always be useful. Not every exercise can fit into a web form.

However, if relevant, it can help teachers pay more attention to individual students. Teachers can also focus lesson time on concepts that hinder the class in general. Children will ideally be well prepared for exams, while educators can perfect their courses.
