Densus 88 Detains 4 Jemaah Islamiyah Terrorist Suspects In Batam
JAKARTA - The National Police's Anti-terror Detachment 88 Team arrested four terrorist suspects in the Batam area, Riau Islands. They are the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) network.
"Densus 88 has arrested four terrorist suspects in the Batam area," said Head of Public Information of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan in a written statement, Wednesday, March 16.

The results of the interim examination, the suspects have different roles in terrorist networks. For example, DS is known to have served as part of the T3 (Taklim, Tarbiyah, and Tahmidz) Da'wah Division in Banten in Batam in 2012.
"The suspect was also a coach and recruited members of Jamaah Islamiyah in Batam," said Ramadhan.
For the suspect, MS is a coach under the leadership of Mudjahid who is the Qoid Korda Batam. He also attended a meeting of fellow members of Jamaah Islamiyah in Batam at the end of 2014.
The next terrorist suspect is the US. He is said to have played a role in recommending people for screening JI members.
"In 2017 Mudjahid recommended that Taklim-assisted people, including the US, be sent to follow the next screening, namely the Tamhiz T3 Sub-Sector in Medan," said Ramadhan.
"Then in 2018 after following the screening in Medan, the US was channeled for majors and then returned to Batam to officially become a member of Jamaah Islamiah," he continued.

"At the end of 2014 attended a meeting in Batam with the aim of meeting members of Jamaah Islamiyah Batam area," said Ramadhan.
