Police Investigate Case Of Hoarding 750 Cartons Of Cooking Oil In Sudiang Makassar, Find Suppliers
MAKASSAR - The Biringkanaya Police are continuing to investigate the two suspected perpetrators with the initials F and RA related to the case of hoarding 750 boxes of cooking oil after being secured at BTN Pondok Asri 3 Sudiang Village, Biringkanaya District, Makassar, South Sulawesi.
"Based on the suspect's information, this item was obtained from a resident of Gowa Regency," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Biringkanaya Police, Iptu Nurmal Matasa, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, March 16.
His party is still coordinating with the Makassar Polrestabes to continue a deeper investigation to reveal who the supplier is in the midst of the difficulties and scarcity of people getting cooking oil.
The owner of the item, with the initials RA, is known to be domiciled on Jalan Cenderawasih, Mariso District, while the evidence that was secured by officers is at BTN Pondok Asri 3, which is known to be a rented house and is uninhabited.
"The suspect's residence is in Cenderawasih, but the goods are stored there, he said, it's his parents' house. But it's a boarding house, there are no occupants. If we look into it, there is indeed an intention to store it there," said Iptu Nurmal.
In addition, the price of cooking oil to be marketed does not match the market price. The plan is that hundreds of liters of cooking oil will be sold to West Sulawesi. One package containing 1800 milliliters is sold for Rp. 34 thousand, while the market price refers to the government regulation of Rp. 14 thousand per liter.
Currently, the two alleged perpetrators are being detained at the local police station to undergo a further investigation, as to where to get the cooking oil. Both will be charged with Law No. 7 of 2014 concerning Trade with the threat of imprisonment for five years.
From the results of the interrogation, the suspect said that he got the supply of Surya brand cooking oil from a certain distributor after ordering as a buyer and waiting for one month for delivery. Then resold according to orders from market traders and shops in Makassar to West Sulawesi.
