249 Migrant Workers From Malaysia And Singapore Treated At The Galang Island Hospital For Positive COVID-19
BATAM - A total of 249 Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) who recently arrived from Malaysia and Singapore were treated at the Galang Island Special Hospital for Infection (RSKI) because they were confirmed positive for COVID-19.
The Head of the Batam City Health Office, Dr. Didi Kusmarjadi, explained that there were 250 residents of the Galang Island Hospital, 249 of whom were PMIs, and the other was a resident.
"There are no recorded foreign nationals (WNA) currently being treated at the RSKI", he said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, March 16.
Of all the patients treated at the Galang Island Hospital, 166 of them were male and 84 were female.
"Currently RSKI occupancy is 54.34 of the 460-bed capacity", he said.
He mentioned the number of PMIs who underwent COVID-19 quarantine at government facilities as many as 419 people, namely in Rusunawa BP Batam and P4TKI shelter.

In addition, his party also noted that currently, as many as 53 travelers are undergoing self-quarantine at the hotel, namely 38 Indonesian citizens and 15 foreigners.
Meanwhile, throughout 2022, as many as 10,343 foreign travelers arrived in Batam.
"The number of PMI positive for COVID-19 in 2022 is 1,435 people", said Didi Kusmarjadi.
