8 Days Of Operation Yustisi, Fines Collected Nearly IDR 1 Billion
JAKARTA - As many as 834,771 people were arrested by yustisi raids for violating health protocols throughout Indonesia which were carried out for eight days. This operation was held from September 14 to 21.
Karo Penmas, Public Relations Division of the National Police, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, said that of the number of violators, sanctions were collected in the form of fines of Rp. 924 million.
"The administrative fines are 11,951 times with a fine of Rp924,173,500," Awi told reporters, Tuesday, September 22.
Awi detailed, of the 834,771 violators, the sanctions for verbal reprimands were to 617,925 violators and 126,105 written witnesses. Then, in the Justisi operation it also targets business premises. Where as many as 412 business places were temporarily closed.
"Finally, the other sanctions were social workers as many as 78,378 times," he said.
Furthermore, Awi said in the implementation of the justisi operation as many as 81,618 joint team personnel were involved. They come from various institutions ranging from the National Police, TNI, Regional Government (Pemda), the Attorney General's Office, to the Court.
"A total of 42,689 personnel came from the National Police, 13,553 TNI personnel and 16,396 Satpol PP personnel 8,980 other personnel," Awi concluded.
Previously, the Presidential Spokesperson for Legal Affairs Dini Purwono asked the public not to consider the justisi health protocol operation as a repressive act. He said, this operation was held to increase public awareness in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The government asks the public not to consider the justisi operation of the health protocol as part of repressive measures. Moreover, in its implementation, the government also cooperates with community organizations, religious leaders and community leaders to help enforce health protocols in society and communities," said Dini.
According to him, enforcement of this discipline is important because the key to controlling COVID-19 starts from implementing protocols such as wearing masks, maintaining distance, and diligently washing hands.
"The public must realize that they are the spearhead in efforts to control this," he said.
