Update On COVID-19 As Of September 22: New Cases Of 4,071, Recovering, Increasing 3,501

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 43,896 specimens were examined with the results of 4,071 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 252,923 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Tuesday, September 22.

Today's cases increased by 3,501, so that a total of 184,298 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 160 people and a total of 9,837 people.

The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 1,236 new cases and a total of 64,554 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by West Java which has 575 new cases with a total of 18,077 cases. East Java has 341 new cases and a total of 41,417 cases. Riau has 253 new cases and a total of 5,701 cases. Then, Central Java has 228 new cases and a total of 19,982 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 843 cases recovered. Followed by West Java with an increase of 588 recovered cases, Central Java with an increase of 406 recovered cases, and East Java with an increase of 403 recovered cases.

Then, there are 2 provinces that reported having no new cases today. The provinces are Jambi and Central Kalimantan.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined reached 2,994,069. In details, 2,944,499 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 49,570 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.3 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 109,721 people. Currently, 494 districts / cities out of 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
