COVID-19 Update Oer March 16: 13.018 New Cases, Heals Added By 32.262 People

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 206.149 specimens were examined with the results of 13.018 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 5.927.550 people and active cases have decreased by 19.474 to 279.969 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Wednesday, March 16.

Today's recovered cases increased by 32.262 people, bringing the total to 5.494.606 people recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 230 cases and a total of 152.975 people.

The province with the newest cases was in West Java with 2.714 cases and a total of 1.080.322 cases. Followed by Central Java with 1.776 new cases with a total of 614.342 cases. DKI Jakarta with 1.706 new cases and a total of 1.222.584 cases. East Java has 904 new cases and a total of 567.565 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 9.730 recovered cases. Followed by Banten with an additional 2.779 recovered cases, North Sumatra with an additional 2.433 recovered cases, and DKI Jakarta with an additional 2.400 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 89.718.792.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 13.49 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 13.199 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 193.903.477 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 152.405.191 received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 15.222.442. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208.265.720 people.
