Two Executors Of Medan District Court Judge Jamaluddin Sentenced To Die

JAKARTA - Reza Fahlevi and Jefri Pratama, two executors of the planned murder of Medan District Court judge Jamaluddin, were sentenced to death. This death sentence was knocked by the Medan High Court panel.

Quoted from the Directory of the Supreme Court (MA), the PT Medan panel changed the Medan District Court's decision on the appeal filed by the public prosecutor. Initially, Jefri Pratama was sentenced to life, while Reza Fahlevi was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

"Changing the decision of the Medan District Court dated July 1, 2020, which requested an appeal only regarding the punishment imposed on the defendant," said the PT Medan decision quoted on Tuesday, September 22.

Reza Fahlevi was legally and convincingly proven guilty of jointly committing the crime of premeditated murder against Judge Jamaluddin.

"Sentenced the defendant M Reza Fahlevi to death," continued the verdict of PT Medan.

Even with Jefri Pratama's appeal decision, PT Medan changed the first-level decision at the Medan District Court. Jefri was also found guilty of jointly committing premeditated murder against Judge Jamaluddin.

"Sentencing the defendant M Jefri Pratama alias Jefri is therefore a death sentence," read a separate decision by PT Medan.

Jefri Pratama, Reza Fahlevi and Zuraida Hanum — Jamaluddin's wife — conspired to kill the Medan District Court judge. Judge Jamaluddin was killed by smothering his head with a pillowcase on November 29, 2019.

Judge Jamaluddin's body was then dumped in a Prado BK 77 HD car in the Darman Sembiring oil palm plantation, Deli Serdang.
