BPJS Health Contributions Are Still In Accordance With Presidential Decree 75 Of 2019
JAKARTA - The Coordinating Minister for Human and Cultural Development (PMK) Muhadjir Effendy ensures that the dues for the Health Social Security Administration (BPJS) remain in line with Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 75 of 2019.
He conveyed this after chairing a meeting with a number of related parties, including from the BPJS and the National Social Security Council (DSJN). The purpose of this meeting is that there is a common ground between the ministries and the institutions in charge of social security.
"An agreement has been taken and the agreement is unanimous. The point is that Presidential Decree 75 of 2019 is implemented as is," said Muhadjir at the Coordinating Ministry for PMK Office, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta, Monday, January 6.
It is known, Presidential Decree Number 75 of 2019 concerning amendments to Presidential Decree Number 82 of 2018 concerning Health Insurance was signed by President Joko Widodo on October 24, 2019. This regulation regulates the increase in BPJS contributions as of January 1, 2020.

For Mandiri class rates with services in class III rooms, it increases from Rp. 25,500 to Rp. 42 thousand per participant per month or up to Rp. 16,500. Then, the premium for Mandiri class II increases from IDR 51 thousand to IDR 110 thousand per participant per month. Meanwhile, services in the Mandiri I class of care increased from Rp. 80 thousand to Rp160 thousand per participant.
Reflecting on the number of increases, Muhadjir said there was a risk of moving participants from class I or class II to class III. However, he stressed that the government was ready for this. Because, before Presidential Decree Number 75 of 2019 was issued, this kind of thing had been discussed first.
"Previously, the risks were discussed before drafting the Presidential Decree. Our job now is to validate it and prepare seriously so that various kinds of consequences that we do not want do not occur," he said.
There is a Lower Fare Option
After participating in the closed meeting with the Coordinating Minister for PMK Muhadjir Effendy, the Chief of Presidential Staff (KSP) Moeldoko, Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto, and Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, President Director of BPJS Kesehatan Fachmi Idris also said that the Presidential Decree Number 75 of 2019 had fully enforced this year.
According to him, if the increase in fees is considered burdensome, people who enjoy BPJS class I services can go down to class II services.
"For class I, if it feels heavy, the option is to go down class. We at BPJS Kesehatan open the widest possible opportunity with the purchasing power of the community with class fees that are below it," said Fachmi while saying the medical services received for those who graduated from that class. wouldn't be much different.
"Class I can go down to class II. Class II can go down to class III," he added.
If people who used to pay for class III BPJS facilities object to the new fees, then in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs, they will collect data.
"We will register the incapable data by the Ministry of Social Affairs with the provisions of the applicable procedures," he concluded.
