Floods In Jakarta, DKI Pemprov Dredges 951 Tons Of Garbage From Three Locations
JAKARTA - This morning, the Environment Agency (LH) dispatched 45 officers to transport trash in 3 rivers and streams after the rain which resulted in flooding.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Environment and Forestry Service Andono Warih said that garbage transportation was carried out at Manggarai Water Gate, Central Jakarta, West Jakarta Season City Flood Canal, and East Jakarta Kampung Melayu Bridge.
"There are 20 officers at the Manggarai Water Gate, 15 at the BKB Season City, and 10 at the Ciliwung River, Kampung Melayu Bridge," said Andono in his statement, Tuesday, September 22.
As a result, 888 cubic meters of waste were successfully transported at Manggarai Water Gate and 63 cubic meters of garbage at BK Season City. A cubic meter is the same as a ton. If converted, the total waste transported weighs 951 tonnes.
"Meanwhile, there is no volume of waste transported at the Kampung Melayu Bridge because the situation is conducive," said Andono.
Andono continued, in transporting garbage at Manggarai Water Gate, his party used 7 heavy equipment to transport garbage this morning. 3 heavy equipment are placed at Manggarai Water Gate, 2 heavy equipment at BKB Season City, and 2 at Kampung Melayu Bridge.
In the development of flood management as of 09.00 WIB, currently 38 people have been displaced. The refugees are in two locations, namely the Riyadhul Saadah Kembangan Utara prayer room and the Pengadegan Rusunawa.
Meanwhile, there are 56 RTs that are still inundated. In details, there are 9 RT in West Jakarta with a water level of 10 to 50 centimeters (cm), 7 RT in South Jakarta with a water level of 10 to 40 cm.
Then, there are 38 RT in East Jakarta with a water level of 10 to 100 cm, and 2 RT in North Jakarta with a water level of 20 to 25 cm. Meanwhile, conditions in Central Jakarta have receded.
