Aceh Provincial Government Provides 202 Tons Of Cooking Oil For Cheap Markets
BANDA ACEH - The Aceh government through the Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag) provides around 202 tons of cooking oil at low-cost markets in 23 districts/cities throughout Aceh.
"We plan to carry out this cheap market throughout Aceh on March 19-22 2022, this is being regulated whether it can be done simultaneously or not," said Head of the Aceh Industry and Trade Office, Mohd Tanwier, in Banda Aceh, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 15.
Tanwier said that during this year's low-cost market, his party provided several types of basic necessities including subsidized rice, cooking oil, granulated sugar, flour and chicken eggs.
Based on data from the Aceh Industry and Trade Agency, in addition to 202 tons of cooking oil, the number of basic necessities available for this cheap market are 138 tons of rice, 192 tons of sugar, 23 tons of flour, and 694 thousand eggs.
Then, the basic food items were distributed to 23 regencies/cities with an average number of six tons of rice, 8.3 tons of sugar, 8.8 tons of cooking oil, one ton of flour and 30,200 chicken eggs.
"So we don't determine package by package in this low-cost market, as usual," he said.
Tanwier said that the organization of this cheap market was aimed at helping the people of Aceh whose economy was middle to lower, as well as in welcoming the holy month of Ramadan.
"Later on, these basic necessities will also be subsidized. Each item is subsidized by Rp. 3,000, except for eggs which have not been determined," said Mohd Tanwier.
For regional implementation, it is not certain whether it will be held simultaneously or not, although it is determined by the province, it is very likely that the schedule could also be different.
"We should have held it simultaneously in all regencies/cities. However, the supply of oil is currently still constrained. There is no packaging yet, if the bulk continues to come in," said Mohd Tanwier.
