Super Minamino Debut That Makes Klopp Satisfied
JAKARTA - Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp praised Takumi Minamino's extraordinary debut in the match against Everton in the FA Cup, Sunday, January 5. Despite not scoring a goal, the Japanese player helped the Reds win 1-0 over their city rivals.
A January transfer window signing from Salzburg, Minamino began his adventures in the Premier League by playing alongside Liverpool's youth squad. The owner of the number 18 immediately won an important victory at Anfield.
Klopp loved what he saw in the 24-year-old when Curtis Jones on 71 minutes pushed the European champions into the fourth round.
"Super. Incredible. The right players we want, exactly the players we expect," he said in a press conference as quoted by Soccerway.
In Minamino's first game in a team he didn't know, said Klopp, especially in an established team, usually very difficult to adapt. In contrast, the team that played against Everton only had two training sessions but then he put in a stunning game.

"His football skills are extraordinary, his attitude is extraordinary, he attacks so many times in different situations," continued the former Borussia Dortmund coach.
Minamino was valued at a dowry of 7.25 million pounds by the Reds. He became the first player to sign the Reds in mid-season following the arrival of Virgil van Dijk from Southampton two years ago.
The Red's interest in Minamino emerged when they beat Salzburg in the Champions League last October. In a thrilling 4-3 home win, this Cerezo Osaka academy product was brilliant with scoring one goal.
Minamino is able to fill several roles in attack. He is also eligible to play in the Champions League this year. On his Anfield debut, Minamino played 70 minutes before being replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Liverpool, 13 points clear at the top of the table, will return to action with a trip to Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday.
