Transjakarta Still Frequent Accidents, President Director: We Have Warned Operators
JAKARTA - President Director of PT Transjakarta Yana Aditya responded to Transjakarta bus accidents which are still frequent.
Yana said that after a series of Transjakarta bus accidents that occurred at the end of last year until she received an audit from the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT), she had given a stern warning to the operator as the bus driver recruiter.
"From us, what have we done? We have given a warning to the operator. So there are two operators there, Mayasari and Pahala Kencana, who had an accident yesterday. We will give a warning," Yana said when met at the DKI DPRD Building, Tuesday, 15 March.
As for the Transjakarta bus driver who was involved in the accident, Yana said that his party had given him a suspension. This is done so that the driver is focused on undergoing the inspection.
Yana thinks that Transjakarta's actions, which are sufficient to give warnings to operators, can provide a deterrent effect and can prevent accidents from happening again in the future.
"One of the things we give is to all operators who commit violations, we warn. Everything has a deterrent effect and of course there is an effect for what kind of future. They have a contract with us," said Yana.
