Archipelago's Land And Water In IKN Which Is A Marker Of Immediate Commencement Of Development

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Monday, March 14 yesterday carried out a procession of land and water unification from 34 provinces in the Kilometer Zero Point area of the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago, East Kalimantan.

Jokowi said the unification of land and water brought by the governors was the start of the construction of the Nusantara IKN. The process of unification of water and land begins with singing the anthem Indonesia Raya.

After that, President Jokowi accepted the handover of water and land from DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan. The water brought by Anies came from North Jakarta while the soil in the yellow basket came from Kampung Akuarium, East Jakarta.

Subsequently, one by one the other governors including Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, and East Java Governor Khofifah Indah Parawansa handed over the land and water they brought from their territory.

"Today, Monday, March 14, 2022, we are here together in the context of a big dream and a big job that we will soon start, namely the construction of the Indonesian Capital City," Jokowi said as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube while giving a speech.

Jokowi explained that the unification of land and water in the Bejana Nusantara became a symbol of diversity in the country. Moreover, during the casting process, 34 governors from provinces in Indonesia were present along with 15 community leaders from East Kalimantan.

Not only that, the land and water brought by the governors are also special because they are brought from their place of origin and poured into the place that will become the location of the new capital city.

"This is a form of our diversity and the strong unity between us in order to build this Nusantara IKN," said the former governor of DKI Jakarta.

After pouring the soil and water, now the IKN construction will be carried out. It is hoped that all parties from the central government to the TNI-Polri, as well as local governments, the private sector and the community continue to support the development of the Nusantara IKN.

Thus, the development goals of this capital city can be achieved. "Collaboration between the central government, regional governments, the TNI, Polri, the private sector, and the entire community in supporting the development of this IKN will be very helpful so that what we aspire to can be realized immediately," he said.

"Hopefully, we pray that God's guidance and blessings will give us success and smoothness in building this Nusantara IKN," added Jokowi.

On a different occasion, the Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono also explained the same thing about the procession of land and water unification that was carried out by Jokowi at the Zero Kilometer IKN Point. He said this procession was actually carried out as a marker for the start of the construction of the Nusantara IKN.

"Together with the governors and community leaders, there is a procession in which we pray and of course ask God that this great program can run well and that all elements of society can support it," he said as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Monday, March 14.

Heru explained that land and water were chosen because if they were put into one sentence, it would read Homeland. In addition, it is hoped that these two objects can become a symbol of unity because they will be poured in the same place, namely Bejana Nusantara.

"We are an archipelagic country from the tip of Aceh to Papua. And the different local wisdoms are expressed in the symbols of land and water which, when combined, become the words of the Motherland," concluded Heru.
