Manager Says Kamaru Usman Will Kick Canelo Alvarez's Ass If The Duel Is Done On The Street
JAKARTA - After the success of the Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor duel in 2017, the crossover fight between boxing and the UFC is likely to be held again.
Interestingly, the fight will involve two of the best cross-division athletes in each sport, boxer Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez against UFC fighter Kamaru 'Marty' Usman.
Usman's manager, Ali Abdelaziz, recently said that Canelo is no match for the Nigerian fighter. The reason is, he believes Usman only needs three rounds to beat Canelo convincingly.
"Kamaru took him down without a problem in three rounds. He's a tough guy from Africa who has gone through a lot of obstacles. I have a lot of faith in Kamaru, that's what makes me different from everyone else", Abdelaziz said in an interview quoted by Marca, Monday, March 14.
"I trust him a lot, I live with him, I fight with him, I breathe with him, I die with him. He is a very special person in my life. We have been involved in several street fights and I have always believed in him. believe that Kamaru can beat anyone on the planet."
According to Abdelaziz, Usman is ahead of Canelo, who he does not consider the best cross-division boxer on the planet. If there was a clash on the road between the two fighters, according to Abdelazis, Usman "would have easily kicked the Mexican in the ass".
"Everyone wants to box, but the truth is, if a fight broke out on the street, who would be the most feared person on the planet? They can't say for sure that Canelo Alvarez is the most dangerous person in the world," he added.
Usman has become one of the most coveted fighters in the UFC. The welterweight king is targeting a return in mid-year against Leon Edwards and, although he has the possibility of a trilogy dueling against Colby Covington, Usman is not letting go of his desire to duel Canelo.
