Many Are Still Displaced, Mostly In West Jakarta
JAKARTA - There are still a number of residents who have fled due to flooding in Jakarta. Based on data from the DKI Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) this morning, the largest number of refugees are in West Jakarta.
In West Jakarta, floods occurred due to overflows of the Angke River, Pesanggrahan River, West Flood Canal, and tidal flooding.
"In West Jakarta, there are still three RTs in one urban village that were affected by the flood. The water level is currently at least 150 cm deep. There are still 2,867 refugees in five refugee locations," Head of Data and Information Center of DKI Jakarta BPBD M Ridwan told reporters, Monday January.
Meanwhile in East Jakarta, all areas have receded. However, there are still as many as 200 refugees in one evacuation location. Floods in East Jakarta occurred due to overflowing of the Ciliwung, Cipinang and Sunter rivers.
Then, all areas in North Jakarta have receded but there are still 20 refugees in one refugee location. This flood occurred because of the overflow of the Cakung, Sunter, and tidal floods.
In South Jakarta, all areas have also receded, but there are still 19 refugees in one evacuation location. The flood there was due to the overflowing of the Ciliwung, Krukut, Grogol and Pesanggrahan rivers.
"In Central Jakarta, all areas have receded and no residents have fled," said Ridwan.
In areas that have not receded, the DKI Water Resources Service unit officers will carry out the handling of flood extraction using a water pump. Then, the PPSU in each village did the cleaning of the water rope.
Ridwan is still not sure when all the refugees have returned to their homes. Given, he said, there are still houses that are submerged or cannot be cleaned of the remaining mud.
Therefore, said Ridwan, what the refugees needed most now was carbolic acid or disinfectant. "In addition, refugees also need cleaning tools, pampers, drinking water, blankets, clean clothes, underwear and ready-to-eat food," he concluded.
