A Policeman Was Killed By A Car In Palembang

PALEMBANG - A traffic accident that occurred on Jenderal Sudirman Street, Palembang City, South Sumatra on Sunday, March 13, at around 11.45 western Indonesia time, killed a police officer in this city.

The victim has the initials 2nd Brigadier RAN (22) who is a member of the Sabhara Unit of the Palembang Metro Police (Sat Sabhara Polrestabes).

"Yes, the victim is our member, from the accident the victim died at the Christian Hospital (RSK) Charitas with injuries to his head and body," said Head of the Law Enforcement of Palembang Metro Police 1st Insp Arsikakum when confirmed in Palembang, as quoted by Antara.

According to Arsikakum, the accident occurred when 2nd Brigadier RAN departed on a motorbike from his home in Sukajadi Village, Talang Kelapa District, Banyuasin to the Palembang Police Headquarters to take part in the task preparation session.

Then when passing on Jenderal Sudirman Street or to be precise in front of Apotek Manjur, Ilir Timur I District, he said, the victim stopped his motorbike because the car in front of him braked suddenly.

"That's when the victim's motorbike was hit from behind by a minibus, causing the victim to fall onto the road," he said.

Seeing this condition, he said, the victim was immediately evacuated by residents to the Charitas Hospital which is not far from the crime scene (TKP) to get medical help, but his life was not saved.

"The victim's body has now been taken to the funeral home. Then we recorded the identity of the driver of the car and we have secured the car for the time being," he said.
