Cooking Oil Transport Truck Overturned, Police: No Victims And Goods Safe
TANGERANG - A truck loaded with cooking oil was involved in a traffic accident, on Saturday, March 12, at 12.00 WIB. The accident occurred in the area of Jalan Raya Mauk KM 10, Sepatan Village, Tangerang Regency.
Cash, the condition of the rolled-up truck, went viral on social media after being uploaded by the @Infotangerang.id account. The incident was confirmed by the Head of Traffic for the Tangerang City Metro Police, Kompol Joko Sembodo.
"It will be completed later, because it is the Police who handle the Sector," he said.
He explained that the accident started when a truck transported cooking oil to be distributed. However, the vehicle swerved while driving on Jalan Raya Mauk. Luckily no other vehicle was affected, so this was a single accident.
"So chronologically, trucks carrying cooking oil want to be distributed. Human error keeps happening, so it's a single accident," said Joko when contacted by VOI, March 12. It is suspected that the truck was carrying an excessive load, making it difficult for the driver to control.
Even though the truck was rolled up on a fairly congested road, Kompol Joko confirmed that there were no casualties. The condition of the transported goods, namely hundreds of packaged cooking oil, was also reported to be safe. The packaging of the cooking oil was good and strong enough that it would not be damaged even if it fell from the transport truck.
“There were no casualties, the cooking oil is safe, because it is already packaged. Only the truck overturned. The packaging for cooking oil remains safe and has been moved," said Joko.
Joko said this incident did not cause traffic jams and crowds of residents. He admitted, residents actually helped at the scene so as not to cause long traffic jams.
"There is no (congestion). There are also no crowds or residents looting cargo. It actually helps. But we are still anticipating it," he said.
Cooking oil itself is a rare item whose price is also uncertain because it is often expensive. In fact, people often have to queue and scramble to buy cooking oil.
It is hoped that this incident will not be the reason for the difficulty in distributing cooking oil that the government continues to do.
