Palace Calls Archipelago IKN Development Continues After Jokowi's Administration
JAKARTA - The Main Expert Staff of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Wandy Tuturoong said the transition process for the transfer and development of the State Capital (IKN) is designed to be sustainable so that it does not stop during the reign of Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
Wandy explained that the rules are contained in Law Number 3 of 2022 concerning IKN. In the law, the development and transfer of IKN is designed to continue.
"With the existence of this law, it is one of the efforts to ensure its sustainability. Because the current and future Presidents must implement this law," said Wandy in a statement received in Jakarta, Saturday, March 12, quoted from Antara.
Although he did not deny that the IKN development and transfer process faced many challenges, Wandy emphasized the government's belief that it would be successful and sustainable based on good intentions, a far-sighted vision and the hard work of all parties so far.
"Moreover, we are talking about the future of the nation. Towards an Advanced Indonesia in 2045," he said.
Wandy explained, the IKN Law is the legal basis and reference for carrying out all stages of the development and transfer of the Nusantara IKN.
This includes the IKN Authority, spatial planning, land and transfer of land rights, the environment, to disaster management as well as defense and security.
In addition, continued Wandy, the IKN Law also regulates the funding scheme and management of the revenue and expenditure budget. "This arrangement is to provide clear rules for the IKN development process which will be carried out until 2045," explained Wandy.
"This regulation is also the basis for the next government in continuing the process of developing and relocating IKN in Kalimantan," he added.
Wandy said, IKN is a strategy to realize Indonesia's 2045 vision, namely more inclusive and equitable economic growth through accelerated development in eastern Indonesia.
IKN development, he said, also puts Indonesia in a more strategic position in world trade routes, investment flows, and technological innovation.
"In addition, IKN is a model for sustainable city development that is driven by the application of the latest technology," said Wandy.
When asked why the construction and transfer of IKN should be carried out this year, Wandy also gave a firm answer.
"Because the momentum is right now, when the government and the DPR can produce an important agreement so that the gap between Java and outside Java can be addressed immediately. It is not certain that this kind of momentum will come again after 2024," he said.
