Mode! If You Want To Get Cooking Oil In Lampung, You Have To Buy Other Products First

JAKARTA - For months, cooking oil has been the main prey for mothers because it is scarce. This condition is used by some people to seek more profit.

There is a conditional mode of selling cooking oil through bundling and tying practices. So if you want to buy cooking oil, you must first buy other products.

"The practice of conditional sales through bundling and tying is not allowed. Because we see a lot of cooking oil on the market, but you have to buy other products first," said Head of Industry and Trade of Lampung Province, Elvira Umihanni, in Bandarlampung, Friday 11 March reported by Antara.

He said the conditional selling practice is not allowed, because it is a form of unfair business competition practice and has been regulated in the Government of the Republic of Indonesia regulation number 44 of 2021 concerning the implementation of the prohibition of monopolistic practices and unfair business competition.

"This is an unfair business competition, and there can be sanctions. Especially now that people really need cooking oil, so everything must be sold according to the provisions of the highest retail price," he said.

According to him, in addition to not being allowed to practice conditional sales, the Governor of Lampung also instructed that the supply of cooking oil destined for Lampung does not leave the area.

"The governor has asked law enforcement and various parties to supervise so that this cooking oil supply does not leave Bakauheni Port or the border area with us," he said.

He explained that currently Lampung has received a supply of 2 million liters per week from exporting companies so that supply must be maintained in order to meet local needs.

"The need for oil here is 600 thousand liters every day, and 2 million liters have been distributed every week according to the needs of the regency and city from the exporting company. So this should not leave the area because it must meet local needs first," he said again.

He said the ban on the sale of cooking oil was conditional and prevented the oil supply from leaving Lampung to stabilize the supply and price of oil in Lampung as well as to meet the needs of the community.

"The main goal is to meet the community's need for cooking oil, then maintain supply and price stability. And lastly, to help cooking oil producers to produce so that there are no layoffs for workers who work in cooking oil factories," he also said.

It is known that in the midst of the complicated cooking oil problem, there are still many practice of selling conditional cooking oil in the community.

In addition, the price of packaged cooking oil is still fluctuating where on average it is sold at a price of Rp. 16 thousand to Rp. 18 thousand per liter in the market.

In addition, the sale of cooking oil is still limited with a coupon queue system for the public to get cooking oil.
