Update On COVID-19 As Of September 20: The Accumulative Total Of COVID-19 Cases In Indonesia Is Nearly 250 Thousand People
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health reports the number of additional COVID-19 cases in Indonesia as of Sunday, September 20. Based on their release, out of 36,753 specimens examined via the real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and rapid molecular test (TCM) method, 3,989 were added.
The number of new cases decreased compared to Saturday, September 20, which reached 4,168 people. With these additions, currently the accumulative total of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia has reached 244,676 people.
"Meanwhile, the number of cured cases currently has reached 2,977 people with an accumulation of 177,327 people, while for cases who died per day it has increased by 105 people with a total accumulation of 9,553 people," said the Ministry of Health as quoted from his written statement, Sunday, September 20.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Health explained that there were 5 provinces that experienced the highest increase in cases. In first place, DKI Jakarta experienced an additional 1,138 cases and 1,071 patients recovered.
Followed by West Java, which experienced an additional 427 cases and there were 418 cases recovered. East Java experienced an additional number of cases as many as 336 people and patients who recovered reached 412 people.
Next, Central Java experienced an additional 303 cases and the number of recovered cases reached 300. Riau has experienced the addition of 298 new cases and 77 people have been declared cured.
"Regarding the positivity rate or the number of positive results, the number of cases examined by the specimen currently reaches 14.2 percent," wrote the Ministry of Health.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Health explained that there are 107,370 people currently suspected of being suspected. Currently, there are 493 districts / cities from 34 provinces in Indonesia that have been declared affected by COVID-19.
