5 Big Rivers In Central Jakarta Shallow, 77,000 Cubic Meters Of Mud Dredged By Excavators
JAKARTA - At least 5 rivers (kalis) in Central Jakarta were dredged by officers from the Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-dept. The dredging was carried out based on information obtained from the community and social media regarding the increasingly shallow river.
"The first time was Ciliwung on Jalan Gajah Mada and Jalan Diponegoro Menteng, then Kali Sentiong on Jalan Galur and in Senen District, then the Krukut River and the West Flood Canal (BKB)," said Head of the Maintenance Section for the Central Jakarta SDA Sub-dept. Achmad Daeroby when contacted, Friday March 11th.
From the dredging, the Central Jakarta SDA Sub-dept. has dredged 77,000 cubic meters of mud from a number of rivers in Central Jakarta.
According to Daeroby, the dredging of the river has so far not been fully completed.
"The progress of BKB is still 80 percent," he said.
In carrying out the dredging, the Central Jakarta SDA Sub-Department deployed 12 excavators or dredging machines covering large, medium and small sizes.
"Then there are 30 trucks for dredging, there are trontons and mixed dump trucks," he said.
Daeroby said that apart from dredging large rivers, the Central Jakarta SDA Sub-Department will also carry out repairs to the connecting channel (Phb) in Central Jakarta.
"The plan is approximately 15 Phb. It's more of regular repairs and maintenance, no widening," he said
