Pretending To Be A Technician, A Herd Of Thieves Steals Telkom's Network Cable In Bali

KLUNGKUNG - The Klungkung Police Team, Bali, arrested five perpetrators of cable thief PT Telkom, in the Klungkung Regency and Gianyar Regency, Bali.

The five perpetrators were IGB (29), POW (22), KS (31), GR (22), and MJS (43). When they did the action, they pretended to be technicians, employees of PT. Telkom and has now been detained at the Klungkung Police Headquarters, Bali.

"For the loss of a telkom cable of approximately 600 meters, it costs Rp. 175,000,000," said Klungkung Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Ario Seno Wimoko, Thursday, March 10.

Previously, the reporter, Magfira Rifki Hariadi, was contacted by witness I Putu Sukaja and conveyed the cable belonging to PT. Telkom, where the victim worked, had disappeared along two gates or about 600 meters on Jalan Raya Puputan, Klungkung, Bali.

"Then, the victim contacted his superiors and after that the victim reported the incident to the Klungkung Police," he added.

The police then conducted an investigation and found 5 people wearing uniforms resembling Telkom's partner technicians lowering cables.

The perpetrators could not show a letter of assignment. The perpetrator later admitted to stealing the cable.

"From the results of the examination, the five perpetrators admitted to stealing the cable belonging to PT Telkom," said AKP Ario.

The evidence that was secured was a 200 meter long Telkom cable, 1 large cut pliers, 1 small cut pliers, 1 orange vest to 1 unit of portable ladder.

"The perpetrators are subject to Article 363 of the Criminal Code regarding the crime of theft with a maximum penalty of 7 years in prison," he said.
