MUI East Java Optimistic Red And White Vaccine Products Become National Pride

SURABAYA - The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of East Java Province is ready to help and support the Red and White vaccine as an effort to prevent COVID-19 from obtaining a ready distribution status.

"The East Java MUI is proud of the presence of this Red and White vaccine from Indonesia," said the General Chair of the East Java MUI KH Moh Hasan Mutawakkil Alallah when receiving a visit from the Airlangga University red and white vaccine research team in Surabaya, reported by Antara, Thursday, March 10.

He said that currently the Red and White vaccine has received clinical trials from BPOM and a halal and sacred fatwa from the Central MUI.

So, he said, his party together with the Muslim community in East Java support and are ready to volunteer to accelerate the stages of clinical trials of the Red and White vaccine until it gets ready for distribution status.

In addition, Kiai Mutawakkil invites the entire community to appreciate the production of the Red and White vaccine which is the result of the hard work of the best sons and daughters of the country.

"The East Java MUI is optimistic that the Red and White vaccine product will be a national pride and an offering for East Java for the nation," said the former Chairperson of the East Java Nahdlatul Ulama (PWNU) Regional Management. Halim Soebahar, Deputy General Chair Prof. KH Thohir Luth, Secretary Dr Hasan Ubaidillah, Treasurer Rasidi MQ, Chairman of the Fatwa Commission KH Ma'ruf Khozin and a number of other administrators.

Meanwhile, the Red and White vaccine team who were present, including the Deputy Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Community Development at Airlangga University and the Coordinator of Red and White Vaccine Research Unair Prof. Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih, Post-graduate Director of Unair Prof. Badri Munir Sukoco and accompanied by other researchers.

Previously, Prof. Ni Nyoman admitted that his party was optimistic that the Red and White vaccine could ward off the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus. In fact, the Merah Putih vaccine has been challenged to the Delta variant, the variant which is said to have the most severe severity (spread) compared to other variants.
