Jokowi Asks Heads Of Deputy Heads Of The Archipelago IKN Authority To Work Fast
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asked the Heads and Deputy Heads of the National Capital Authority (IKN) Nusantara, Bambang Susantono and Dhony Rahajoe to work quickly.
This request was conveyed in his remarks during the Limited Meeting of IKN Land and Institutional Discussions on Thursday, March 10.
"I want the two of them to work quickly, especially with regard to institutions. I think this will be resolved," Jokowi said as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube.
Jokowi also conveyed a number of directions regarding IKN development, especially land and institutional issues.
In his directive, Jokowi instructed the ranks of the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) to immediately settle the status of land ownership in the IKN Nusantara area.
“Then also identify and verify land that may still be owned or controlled by the company or by the community. We must also ensure that land acquisition in the Nusantara Capital area can only be transferred to agencies that require land for IKN development," he said.
Furthermore, the President emphasized to the relevant ministries to not only tighten, but also stop the issuance and transfer of land rights in the IKN area. The Head of State also asked the Minister of ATR/BPN to consolidate, both regarding ownership and use of land in IKN.
"Regarding the spatial plan in the IKN area, so that this can immediately accelerate the release of forest areas in IKN areas, especially those in government-owned areas," the President continued.
In addition, the Head of State also instructed his staff to immediately complete the formation of legislation which is a derivative of the IKN Law.
"This will also be resolved soon. We hope that in March it will be finished,” he continued.
In addition, Jokowi also emphasized the acceleration of the formation of a secretariat as a bureaucratic machine at IKN Nusantara to assist in carrying out the tasks of the authorities. The Head of State also requested that the local community be involved in the structure of the IKN Authority.
"This will also be completed soon, both in the office here and in Balikpapan. I hope that later the authorities will also be able to recruit their deputies to recruit local people so that we really involve the community in the area," he said.
Finally, President Jokowi emphasized that one of the goals of transferring IKN is for equitable economic growth. "Economic GDP distribution matters, regional inequality issues between Java and outside Java, issues regarding the dense population in Java, namely 56 percent of Indonesia's population in Java, 58 percent of economic GDP in Java," he concluded.
