Previously, there was another DKI official who died, namely DKI Regional Secretary Saefullah, who breathed his last on Wednesday, September 16, at the Gatot Subroto Central Army Hospital (RSPAD).

Saefullah died of experiencing irreversible sepsis shock with ARDS when infected with COVID-19. This situation is a severe respiratory distress or respiratory failure caused by a buildup of fluid in the air sacs in the lungs.

"Mr. Saefullah died of shock from irreversible sepsis with ARDS, which is damage to lung tissue due to COVID-19 infection, causing irreparable respiratory failure. This is because adequate oxygen exchange cannot occur," said Head of DKI Health Office Widyastuti.
