Pursuing National Production Target, Pertamina EP Bunyu Field Again Drills Two Development Wells
JAKARTA - PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Bunyu Field has again drilled the third and fourth wells, namely wells B-2105 and B-2109. Previously, in early 2022, two wells were drilled, namely B-2102 and B-2103.
The drilling of this development well is a form of Pertamina Subholding Upstream Regional Kalimantan commitment to continue investing in maintaining and increasing oil and gas production which is important in supporting the achievement of national production targets.
The drilling of these two wells is expected to increase Bunyu Field's oil and gas production which currently reaches 4,529 BOPD of oil and 7,951 MSCF of gas. The drilling depth of the two wells is estimated at 2,700 mMD.
PjS. Senior Manager of Bunyu Field, Agung Setyawan, explained that PEP Bunyu Field continues to synergize with all relevant stakeholders so that drilling activities can run smoothly and according to the stipulated timeframe.
“PEP Bunyu Field continues to strictly enforce health protocols in the drilling area in accordance with the company's principle of always prioritizing the HSSE aspect in all oil and gas operations and business activities. In addition, as a form of the Company's gratitude for this drilling activity, PEP Bunyu Field handed over compensation to 50 poor people in Bunyu District in the form of cash and beef," added Agung.
Representative of Bunyu District, Ahmad Santosa, appreciated the Company's active contribution to the Bunyu community and hoped that drilling activities would run smoothly.
"Hopefully the drilling will be successful and smooth in producing oil to increase national production, which (of course) will have an impact on improving the economy in the Bunyu area," he said.
PEP Bunyu Field and all subsidiaries under the management of the Regional Upstream Subholding Kalimantan will continue to synergize and collaborate to produce safe and sustainable energy. This is important to ensure that the company's oil and gas operations can support national energy security and improve the community's economy, especially in Bunyu District, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan Province.
