The disclosure of this case, said Awi, began when there was a police report about online fraud via Instagram social media with number LP / A / 508 / IX / 2020, Bareskrim Polri on September 8, 2020. So, the Cyber Directorate immediately followed up on the report.

"The team carried out profiling and found an Instagram account. This account contains selling items such as shoes, sandals. Then the victim made a transaction and sent it to a certain account known as the holding account," he explained.
In addition, from this fraudulent mode the perpetrators reaped a profit of up to Rp100 million. The perpetrator spent the profits for his leisure.
"Some are to buy pulses, cellphones, watches and others," said Awi.
The suspects charged under Article 45 A paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph 1 and or Article 51 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 36 of Law number 19 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law number 11 of 2008 concerning ITE and / or Lasal 378 KUHP in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code . Thus, they face a maximum prison sentence of 12 years and / or a maximum fine of Rp. 12 billion.
