British Tycoon Nick Candy Wants To Buy Chelsea From Roman Abramovich For IDR 46.9 Trillion
JAKARTA - Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, is still looking for someone who wants to buy his club. There are already several potential buyers who have expressed interest.
The latest news is that British tycoon Nick Candy is ready to come forward with a tantalizing offer. The man who is also a Chelsea fan, will offer a value of 2.5 billion pounds, or the equivalent of IDR 46.9 trillion
A Candy spokesman told the Mail that Nick Candy was actively exploring a number of options for a potential bid to buy Chelsea.
"Any bid will be made jointly with other parties (or consortiums) and we have serious interest from several internationals," the spokesman said.
"Mr Candy has a great affinity for Chelsea. Unfortunately he was asked to play for the club and he has been watching games at Stamford Bridge since the age of four," he continued.
Candy's offer was actually still below Abramovich's expectations. As previously reported, the Russian businessman wants to release Chelsea for a value of £3 billion.
Besides Candy, The Sun believes Abramovich has also received offers from American billionaire, Todd Boehly and his Swiss business partner, Hansjorg Wyss. Both are now waiting for news from the Chelsea owner.
Reportedly, he has set a deadline until March 15 to get the right offer. Roman Abramovich had to sell Chelsea, the club he has led since 2003, after Russia invaded Ukraine.
