Crowds Of DPRD Criticize Anies For Submitting An Appeal For The Mampang River Dredging Verdict
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan's appeal in the Jakarta Administrative Court's decision regarding the dredging of the Mampang River has drawn criticism from the DKI DPRD, both the opposition and its coalition.
For information, the Jakarta Administrative Court has punished Anies who lost the lawsuit by ordering him to completely dredge the Mampang River and build sheet piles. This lawsuit was filed by residents of the Mampang River flood victims.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has indeed implemented the decision and the dredging of the Mampang River is still ongoing. However, it turns out that Anies still appealed case number 205/G/TF/2021/PTUN.JKT.
Member of the PDIP faction of the DKI DPRD, Gilbert Simanjuntak, said that it was Anies' right as regional head to file an appeal.
However, Gilbert suspects that the appeal submitted is just an excuse for Anies to clear his name of defeat for the claim of the residents of the Mampang River flood victims.
"Anies' intention to appeal is a question, to clear his personal name or for the benefit of the DKI Provincial Government? For the Provincial Government, it is not necessary, because (dredging the Mampang River) is an obligation," Gilbert said on Wednesday, March 9.
Then, a Member of the PSI faction of the DKI DPRD, August Hamonangan, saw that the appeal actually showed Anies' character as a leader who was more concerned with image than work.
"We understand that Mr. Anies has the right to appeal, but feel sorry for the citizens. This shows that he cares more about his image as a governor than completing his work. Mr. Anies wants to be seen as always being right. In fact, appeals or not, loses turn to ash, wins turn to charcoal. Same only," said August.
August said Anies should be aware. Instead of being busy dealing with legal cases like this, it is better for Anies to focus on running a flood control program and not against his own citizens.

"Our opinion is that it is better for Mr. Anies to focus on proving that he is working. There is still a lot of homework to be done. Maybe Mr. Anies is dizzy, but this is his job. It is a mandate from the people of Jakarta. These jobs must be completed before Mr. Anies steps down, because the work is not complete, the community has to go back and forth to the PTUN again," he explained.
Likewise with the party faction supporting Anies. Member of the Gerindra faction of the DKI DPRD, Syarif, admitted that he did not agree with the attitude of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, who appealed the decision to dredge the Mampang River.
Syarif suspects that the legal steps taken by Anies to continue this case were carried out only because of prestige issues. Anies is considered not to want to be defeated by the plaintiff, namely a resident of the Mampang River flood victim.
In fact, said Syarif, the DKI Provincial Government already has a budget to carry out the PTUN decision. Currently, the dredging has been carried out.
"It's been done, and the funds are there. What you're looking for is right and wrong. Then on top of right and wrong there's prestige. (Anies feels) 'I lost, here'. Please don't, "said Syarif.
When the PTUN verdict was issued some time ago, in which Anies was sentenced to dredge to completely dredge the Mampang River and build sheet piles along the river, Syarif also admitted that he had personally advised Anies not to file an appeal. However, it turned out that Anies did not follow the advice.
