Criticized About Handling COVID-19, Luhut: We Work, We Have Brains

JAKARTA - Deputy Chair of the COVID-19 Handling Committee Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan responded to the criticism that has emerged amid the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in eight priority provinces. Luhut emphasized that the government will continue to pay attention to the balance between tight prevention of COVID-19 and a moving economy.

According to him, this is not easy. However, Luhut believes that if everyone wants to work together, it is not impossible that this can be done.

"I remind you that the key to handling COVID-19 is good coordination and strong health discipline," said Luhut in an online press conference, Friday, September 18.

Without discipline, rules, and implementation of policies that have been made, whatever is done will not have maximum results. So, he hopes that all parties must now work together compactly, especially to control this pandemic.

"This nation must be unified. So I speak again, maybe a little harshly. Don't be too sarcastic if you don't understand the problem," he said.

"If you need to come, ask us. How come we do this, we have a brain, we have strength, have a good team. So don't feel like it's not, this can't. You haven't done it, so you don't need to comment if you don't understand, "he added.

Furthermore, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment also asked the public to be proactive about their own situation. If you experience even the slightest symptoms, which are similar to symptoms of exposure to COVID-19 such as coughing, shortness of breath, fever, or other symptoms, you can immediately go to a health facility.

"Immediately go to the doctor for checking," he concluded.
