Pay Attention To Lur, Yogyakarta Begins To Implement Criminal Sanctions For Prokes Violators

YOGYAKARTA - The Government of the Special Region of Yogyakarta has imposed criminal sanctions on anyone found to have twice violated the health protocols in the province starting Thursday, March 10.

Head of the Yogyakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) Noviar Rahmad said the criminal sanction was based on DIY Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2022.

"For the first sanction, there are choices, verbal reprimand, administrative fines, or social work. If we have been hit (sanctions) once, we will immediately enter the court," he said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, March 9.

Noviar said that in addition to applying to residents of DIY, the sanctions also apply to tourists or visitors who are found to have violated the prokes.

"It's the same thing. Both outsiders and residents of DIY, if later they meet (violating the prokes) in Yogyakarta, they will still be given sanctions," he said.

To enforce the rules, he said, the DIY Satpol PP would deploy 140 DIY Satpol PP personnel every day.

"According to the provisions of the regional regulation, starting tomorrow we will carry out (enforcement)," said Noviar.

According to Noviar, the increase in cases of COVID-19 transmission in Yogyakarta is still high because the implementation of public health protocols is still low.

He hopes that after the Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2022 concerning the Handling of Corona Virus Disease 2019 is enforced, the COVID-19 case in DIY can immediately slope down and the status of PPKM, which is now at level 4, can immediately decrease.

"With us being stricter in enforcement, of course the procedure will be stricter and transmission will be reduced so that the (PPKM) level will drop," he said.

The prokes violations in question, he said, included not wearing masks and not keeping a distance

It also concerns companies that do not provide handwashing facilities, do not check the body temperature of all workers and/or visitors who come, do not require every worker and/or visitor to wear masks, do not require social distancing, and do not optimize the use of the Care for Protect application. consistent.

Article 50 and 51 of the regional regulation regulate administrative sanctions for individual violators in the form of verbal/written warnings, guidance, orders to return to origin, and/or social work, he said.

Business actors or office leaders who violate the process are subject to verbal/written warnings, administrative fines, dissolution of activities, temporary suspension of activities, suspension of permits, and/or revocation of permits.

Meanwhile, criminal sanctions are regulated in Articles 54 and 55 which state that any person or business actor or office manager who has received an administrative sanction but still commits a violation shall be sentenced to a maximum imprisonment of six months or a maximum fine of Rp. 50 million.
