Looking At One Of The Stadiums That Host The U-20 World Cup, The Menpora Commented On This
JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali visited the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT) Surabaya, Friday, September 18. This stadium is one of the hosts for the 2021 U-20 World Cup.
Menpora was accompanied by PSSI Deputy Chairman Iwan Budianto, PSSI Central Executive Committee Haruna Soemitro, and a number of PSSI administrators.
The presence of the Menpora was welcomed by the Mayor of Surabaya, Tri Rismaharini, who was accompanied by several heads of local Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD).
The Menpora and entourage saw the readiness of the player changing room, bathroom, player heating area, audience stands, access to the stadium, to the construction of the Surabaya West Outer Ring Road (JLLB) which was used as a new access road from the toll road.
The Menpora admitted that there were still many things that needed to be repaired, such as preparing the freight lift and completing the installation of single seats in the stands, the quality of the stadium grass and lamps with a capacity of 2,400 lux.
"But we are optimistic that by the end of this year the radio repair will be completed, according to the target set by the mayor," said ZA, his nickname, quoted from Antara.
Menpora then praised the development of renovation and preparation for the GBT Stadium.
"If you look at the progress, it is the best here," said Zainudin.
Meanwhile, the presence of the minister who was appointed as Chair of the Indonesia FIFA U-20 World Cup Organizing Committee (INAFOC) also visited several companion stadiums, such as Thor Field, Gelora Stadium 10 November and Gelora Bangkalan Stadium.
