President Jokowi Forms A 2021 U-20 World Cup Committee
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo officially formed a national committee to organize the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2021 which is known as the Indonesia FIFA U-20 World Cup 2021 Organizing Committee (INAFOC) and involves representatives from across ministries.
The formation of INAFOC was based on Presidential Decree No. 19 of 2020 concerning the National Committee for Organizing the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2021 and Indonesian Presidential Instruction No. 8 of 2020 concerning Support for the Implementation of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2021, both issued on September 15, 2020.
"Based on the FIFA Council Meeting in Shanghai, PRC, 24 October 2019, Indonesia has been determined to host the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2021 and needs to issue a Presidential Decree on the National Committee for Organizing the FIFA U-2O World Cup in 2021," he said. mentioned in the consideration of the Presidential Decree which was accessed from the setneg.go.id page on Friday.
Article 2 paragraph 1 states that INAFOC has the task of preparing and organizing the 2021 U-20 World Cup which will be held in DKI Jakarta, South Sumatra, West Java, Central Java, East Java and Bali. INAFOC reports directly to the President.
Article 4 states that INAFOC consists of a steering committee and an executive committee. The organizing committee consists of (1) the INAFOC Organizing Committee; (2) Organizing Committee for Facilities and Infrastructure; and (3) Executive Committee for Achievement of the Indonesian National Football Team.
The chairman of the steering committee is the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy with the ministers of the Advanced Indonesia cabinet as members plus the Head of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency, the Presidential Chief of Staff and the Head of the Government Goods / Services Procurement Policy Institute.
The chairman of the INAFOC organizing committee is the Minister of Youth and Sports Zainuddin Amali, the head of the organizing committee for facilities and infrastructure is the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing, Basuki Hadimuljono, while the chief executive of the achievements of the Indonesian National Football team is the General Chair of the Indonesian Football Association, Mochamad Iriawan.
Later the head of the region that hosts the 2021 U-20 World Cup will determine the regional committee according to the INAFOC Organizing Committee's master plan, while the regional committee costs will be borne by the respective regional APBD (article 11).
Meanwhile, Inpres 8 of 2020 regulates in detail the duties of each cabinet minister, head of bodies and regional heads to host the 2021 U-20 World Cup.
There are 17 ministers of the Advanced Indonesia cabinet who were assigned to the presidential instruction, plus the Attorney General, the TNI Commander, the Chief of Police and the Head of the BPKP.
Furthermore, there are 15 regional heads who will be involved, namely the Governor of DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Bali, South Sumatra, the Mayor of Palembang, Bandung, Surakarta, Denpasar, Surabaya, Regent of Gianyar, Bandung, Badung and Bangkalan.
The U-20 World Cup will be held on 20 May - 12 June 2021 at Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium (Palembang), Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (Jakarta), Si Jalak Harupat Stadium (Bandung), Manahan Stadium (Solo), Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium ( Surabaya) and Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium (Bali).
