The Difficulty Of Family Planning Education And Contraceptives, The Regent Of Purwakarta Is Surprised To Find A Family With 12-15 Children

KARAWANG - Purwakarta Regent Anne Ratna Mustika admitted that it was difficult to provide education and guidance regarding the importance of family planning programs and the installation of contraceptives in the community.

"The big task of the DPPKB (Department of Population Control and Family Planning) is to convince the public by providing education and guidance regarding the importance of the family planning program," said Regent Anne in Purwakarta, Antara, Wednesday, March 9.

Anne hopes that family planning cadres will never give up on providing education about family planning programs to people wherever they are.

According to him, about ten years ago in Plered District, Purwakarta, there were families with up to 15 children and recently in Maniis District there were families with 12 children.

"This is a portrait where it is difficult to convince people to participate in the family planning program," he said.

For this matter, said the regent, education and guidance regarding the importance of the Family Planning program and the installation of contraceptives in the community must continue to be carried out.

Meanwhile, this year the Purwakarta Regency Government won a number of awards for the Family Planning program at the West Java Province level. Among these awards, the Purwakarta DPPKB was declared the first best in the achievement of new family planning participants of more than 100 percent in 2021.
