TransJakarta Electric Bus Passed Flood Resistance Test
JAKARTA - PT TransJakarta President Director Mochammad Yana Aditya said 30 units of TransJakarta electric buses which will start operating soon have passed the flood resistance test.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government together with the BUMD TransJakarta launched 30 units of electric-powered buses that were operated for four non-BRT routes.
"To anticipate flooding, this bus has passed the test. Everything related to flooding, accidents, we have tested so that everything can be anticipated," Yana said at the launch of the electric TransJakarta bus at the Monas IRTI Field, Central Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, March 8.
Yana explained that TransJakarta is completely up to the operator to choose the electric bus to be used. However, flood resistance is one of the criteria required for operators in choosing a bus brand that is operated as an electric-powered public vehicle.
"We leave it to the operator to be able to choose which electric bus to use. Of course all existing brands must pass the test from our place," added Yana.
For information, the 30 units of electric buses that will start operating soon are produced by BYD (Build Your Dream) with the agent holding the brand PT Bakrie and Brothers.
A total of 30 buses are operated by PT Mayasari Bhakti and will operate on non-BRT routes, namely routes 1P (Terminal Senen-Senayan Roundabout), 1R (Tanah Abang-Terminal Senen), 1N (Block M-Tanah Abang), and 6N (Ragunan -Blok M) with operating hours at 06.00-21.00 WIB.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government targets that there will be 100 electric buses operating on the TransJakarta service by the end of this year.
