Police Arrest 5 Drug Dealers In Pekanbaru, 2.4 Kg Of Sabu Confiscated
PEKANBARU - Pekanbaru Police Narcotics Satres, Riau Police revealed a criminal act of drug abuse with five suspects who were arrested in different places and locations with evidence of 2.4 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.
Pekanbaru Police Chief Kombes Pria Budi explained that the incident began with the arrest of MR and MS who were drug couriers on Jalan Indrapuri, Tenayan Raya on March 2, 2022, after receiving information from residents.
After the development of the case, two other suspects, namely J and Y, were arrested at a hotel in Agam Regency, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) on March 3, 2022.
"We have secured these two suspects in West Sumatra. J is in charge of managing finances, distributing salaries and collecting money from transactions. While Y, a woman, is the one who regulates the direction of drug trafficking," said Pria Budi, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 8.
Ironically, Y is known to have just been released on parole from Pekanbaru Class IIA Prison with the same case on 27 February.
From the latest information, development was finally carried out until the owner of the illicit goods with the initials EE was arrested at a hotel in Agam on March 6, 2022.
"And it turns out that EE was only paroled three months ago at the Gobah Prison (Pekanbaru)," he said.
"In total, from these three crime scenes, evidence of 2.4 kilograms of methamphetamine was found which had been wrapped in a package and ready to be distributed," said Pria.
All of these goods are planned to be distributed in Pekanbaru. The man is sure that the illicit goods were obtained from a neighboring country, Malaysia, but the owner of the goods is not yet known, it was cut off in EE.
"The characteristics of drug cases are different from other crimes, the perpetrators do not know each other. But we believe this item was obtained from Malaysia," he said.
The suspects were charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 112 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 132 of Law No. RI. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with the threat of imprisonment for a minimum of six years and a maximum of 20 years.
