Two Mutilated Perpetrators, Rinaldi Harley, Face Death Penalty
JAKARTA - Laeli Atik Supriyatin and Djumadil Al Fajar, the lover couple of Rinaldi Harley Wismanu's murderer, were charged with multiple articles. They could be threatened with the death penalty or life imprisonment.
The Jakarta Police Chief Inspector General Nana Sudjana said that in the case of sadistic murder by means of mutilation, the investigators charged the two perpetrators with Articles 340, 338 and 365 of the Criminal Code.
"For the application of the article, they are subject to Article 340 with the death penalty or life imprisonment or for a specified period of up to 20 years," Nana told reporters, Thursday, September 17.
He was suspected of Article 340 of the Criminal Code because the murder was premeditated. Then, Article 338 of the Criminal Code regarding the murder he committed. Meanwhile, Article 365 of the Criminal Code is suspected for their theft.
The mutilation case started with information received by the police regarding the discovery of a corpse at the Kalibata City Apartment, South Jakarta. This report was received by the police on 9 September.
The dismembered corpse was found wrapped in a plastic bag in the suitcase. It is suspected that the corpse had been in the suitcase for several days.
The identity of the corpse was identified as Rinaldi Harley Wismanu based on the autopsy results. The autopsy process was carried out because the victim's characteristics were similar to someone who was reported missing on 12 September.
