According To The Regulations, The COVID-19 Task Force Asks The Public To Wear Masks Even In Cars
JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Task Force (Task Force) Handling COVID-19 Wiku Adisasmito asked the public to keep wearing masks even though they are in private vehicles.
He conveyed this in response to a number of netizen uploads on social media who did not receive a fine for not wearing a mask while in the car and alone without other passengers.
Wiku explained, this rule is in accordance with Article 4 of the DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation Number 79 Number 2020 concerning individual health protection. The article reads as follows:
"Everyone who is in DKI Jakarta Province is obliged to carry out individual health protection which includes the use of masks covering the nose, mouth and chin when outside the home, interacting with other people whose health status is unknown, and / or using a motorized vehicle," he said. Wiku read out these rules in a press conference broadcast online on the YouTube account of the Presidential Secretariat, Thursday, September 17.
Based on these rules, Wiku asked all parties to comply with these rules in order to protect themselves from COVID-19.
"So please really be able to follow these regulations because it is part of an effort to protect all of us ourselves and the whole community from being infected," he said.
Previously, the Director of the Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo said that at the yustisi operation the joint team would target people who did not use masks during their activities. Including when driving.
This operation was carried out following the increasing number of COVID-19 positive cases and the re-implementation of PSBB in Jakarta.
This operation was carried out in a number of places in Jakarta. Among others, Jalan Batan Raya Pasar Jumat, Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, Jalan Raya Kalimalang, Jalan Kalideres, Tugu Tani area, Jalan Asia Afrika, Bundaran HI and Semanggi.
