Shortness Of Breath, West Pasaman Earthquake Victim Dies

SIMPANG EMPAT - The death toll from the earthquake in West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra, increased by one more, bringing the death toll to 10 as of Monday, March 7th.

"There has been an additional death toll due to the earthquake. Thus, the death toll has risen to 10 so far", said Head of the West Pasaman Communications and Information Office, Edi Murdani, at Simpang Empat, as reported by Antara, Monday, March 7.

He said one additional person who died named Erdina, aged 27, was a resident of Tangah Kajai Village, Talamau District, who was displaced due to the earthquake.

He died after the victim was brought by the family to the Yarsi Hospital with respiratory failure with an unknown cause of death.

Because two days earlier, he went to the ER at the Regional Hospital with complaints of fever and abdominal pain. At that time the medical officer recommended that he be treated, but the family refused.

Previously, the victims who died were Asri Dewi Lestari (24) a resident of Panjang Bridge, Fatih (2) a resident of Jembatan Panjang Neri Herawati (47) a resident of Pasa Lamo Kajai, Anismar (70) a resident of Kajai and Lawiyah (70) a resident of Kampuang Pasia Nagari Kajai Sub-district Talamau.

Then Nur Baya (75) a resident of Pasir Jorong Rimbo Batu Kajai Village, Talamau District, Ermawati (62) a resident of the Valley of Mount Kajai, Endra Watib (51) a resident of Jorong Lubuk Landua Pasaman District, Ali Nuar (60) a resident of Jorong Timbo Nagari Kajai District Talamau and today Erdina are (27).

Meanwhile, the West Pasaman Regency Government continues to distribute logistics to earthquake victims and refugee camps in Talamau and Kinali sub-districts.

Until now, the refugees in the main post of the West Pasaman Regent's office have started to return to their respective homes.

Meanwhile, in a number of refugee camps, residents still survive in refugee posts in Talamau District.*
