Ukraine Joins NATO Cyber Defense Cooperation, To Strengthen Their Position Against Russia
JAKARTA - Ukraine will join the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defense Center of Excellence (CCDCOE) as a "contributing participant". This statement was issued by the NATO-accredited military research institute in a statement on Friday, March 4.
"Ukraine can bring valuable hands-on knowledge from some adversaries in the cyber domain to use for research, training and training," said CCDCOE Director Colonel Jaak Tarien in a statement on the CCDCOE website, also cited by Reuters.
“CCDCOE, based in Estonia, will benefit from Ukraine's “valuable experience from previous cyberattacks”, the statement said.
Ukraine will be accepted at the center as a "contributing participant" after writing a letter expressing interest in joining the NATO CCDCOE.
"CCDCOE, has expanded its membership beyond NATO countries," he added.
This fact also seems to confirm Russia's allegations that Ukraine from the beginning wanted to join NATO which they considered could endanger Russia's position and defense.
The Ukrainians themselves did not explain whether their joining the CCDCOE from NATO would also mean they would become a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and join the world's largest defense cooperation agreement.
Through NATO, it is very possible for Ukraine to be safe from Russian influence, because if one NATO member country is attacked, the other members are required to defend it.
