COVID-19 Update As Of March 6: 49,080 Recovered, More Than New Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 357,011 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 24,867 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 5,748,725 people and active cases have fallen by 24,467 to 475,951 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Sunday, March 6.

Today's recovered cases increased by 49,080 people, bringing the total to 5,122,602 recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 254 cases and the total was 150,172 people.

The province with the most new cases was in West Java with 4,972 cases and a total of 1,041,512 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 3,669 new cases with a total of 1,197,793 cases. Central Java has 2,539 new cases and a total of 593,351 cases. East Java has 2,325 new cases and a total of 553,529 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 18,518 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an increase of 4,967 recovered cases, DKI Jakarta with an additional 4,441 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 3,687 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 87,107,018.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 15.47 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 16,248 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, there are currently 192,003,490 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 147,858,311 the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 12,405,103. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
