Follow Apple's Steps, Samsung Stops Shipping Products To Russia

JAKARTA - Samsung Electronics stopped shipping products to Russia due to the latest developments in the geopolitical situation.

Mobile phones from Samsung accounted for 30 percent of the market in Russia in the fourth quarter of 2021, ahead of Xiaomi (23 percent) and (Apple (13 percent) according to Counterpoint data.

The Chinese phone brand has so far not commented on the Russian invasion. Beijing has refrained from criticizing Moscow over its invasion of Ukraine.

Apple recently announced that it would stop exporting to Russia and restrict services, including Apple Pay, in the country.

Apple also stopped selling products in Russia after the invasion.
