Investigate Attorney General's Building Fire, Bareskrim Investigates Renovation Activities
JAKARTA - The police are continuing to investigate the fire case at the Attorney General's Office (AGO) building. It was also traced the activities of construction workers carrying out renovations on the 6th floor of the main building that caught fire.
"At the time of the incident, from 11.30 WIB to 17.30 WIB, we also found several masons and people on the 6th floor of the personnel bureau," said the Head of Criminal Investigation of the National Police, Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo, to reporters, Thursday, September 17.
According to Listyo, renovations were carried out in a number of rooms. From that activity, investigators examined information to determine the source of the fire.
"At that time, we were carrying out renovation activities, so that it became one of the things we studied," said Listyo.
The National Police previously held a case with the AGO over the burning of the main building of the Adhyaksa Corps. Based on the results of the case title, investigators considered that there was a criminal element behind the fire.
"The incident happened, meanwhile the investigators concluded that it was a suspicion of a criminal incident," said Listyo.
The Adhyaksa Corps building caught fire on Saturday, August 22 at 19.10 WIB. The police then formed a joint team to inspect the building and asked tens of witnesses for statements.
