Russian Hackers Continue To Attack Ukrainian Government Websites
JAKARTA - Russia's telecommunications regulator says Ukrainian government websites have been subject to cyberattacks from Russian hackers since last month's invasion.
Russia's Special Communications and Information Protection Service said on social media that "Russian hackers continue to attack Ukrainian sources of information relentlessly".
The sites attacked included those belonging to the parliament, the presidency, the cabinet, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Home Affairs. These sites are subject to distributed denials of service (DDoS) attacks.
DDoS attacks, which are aimed at the server, cause the site to be offline.
The service said the sites "could weather the storm".
"We will survive! On the battlefield and in cyberspace!" they said.
Reuters reported that the Russian Foreign Ministry was not immediately available for comment. Russia has previously denied being behind cyberattacks, including those affecting the US election.
The Ukrainian government invites underground hackers to help them protect critical infrastructure and spy on Russian soldiers through cyberspace.
